Harivihar Ayurveda Wellness Holiday

Harivihar Ayurveda Homestead is a family owned business which opened its doors to guests in 2003. It is a relatively small retreat offering guests an enjoyable, intimate and peaceful stay.

Philosophy & Approach – Green Leaf Accredited Ayurveda Treatment Centre

Harivihar is a Green Leaf accredited Ayurveda treatment centre which carries out treatments under the guidance of Sakalya Ayurveda Centre, a reputed Ayurveda group in Kerala. Ayurveda doctors and masseurs are all well-qualified and experienced in the field.

The treatment room at Harivihar is a fully-fledged Ayurveda and panchakarma treatment centre where all types of Ayurveda treatments – both rejuvenative and curative are performed. Ayurveda treatments usually require the use of internal medicine, which is sometimes pungent to taste, but have good results.

Yoga at Harivihar

Harivihar offers basic and advanced yoga training lead by established yoga teachers with vast experience in this field. The yoga master is Yogacharya Sri Gopalakrishnan of Sivananda school of Yoga, which is widely acclaimed as one of the prominent Yoga institutes in the world. The systems and methods of conducting the sessions are based on the basic principles propagated by Swami Sivanada.

Yogacharya Gopalakrishnan is a highly-respected personality who has been tirelessly working for the cause of yoga for the last 35 years. He is an internationally affiliated teacher with the Sivananda Yogasram. He is a disciple of His Holiness Swami Sivanada (Devine life society Rishikesh, Himalayas) and is specially trained in Yoga therapy for specific problems like diabetes, stress and back pain

Neurological related diseases

What makes Harivihar unique is the integrated clinics offering treatment for neurological-related diseases. These clinics provide the services of a senior consultant in neurology along with the Ayurvedic physician working as a team to ensure the best possible results for chronic ailments pertaining to neurology and musculoskeletal diseases.

Arts and culture

Apart from being a centre of excellence in Ayurveda and yoga, Harivihar also does its bit in promoting the traditional art forms of Kerala. Various art forms are performed at the retreat plus guests are encouraged to visit local dance performances, festivals and temples.

Walk with the host

One of the main benefits of staying at a homestead is getting to know your host. Harivihar is located in an old part of the city with pretty small lanes and houses on both sides. Why not join Dr Srikumar, your host when he goes on his morning walk from 6.15 to 7.15 to get a glimpse of the neighbourhood. The walk takes you past the Bilathikulam temple pond, C.V.N Kalari and the  Pazassiraja museum.
