Gol Gumbaz
Dominating the landscape for miles around, Gol Gumbaz is India’s largest dome and the second largest in the world. It is the tomb of Muhammed Adil Shah and was built in 1656. Both architecturally and acoustically stunning, it doesn’t have any supports. The seven-story octagonal spires at the four corners is the most striking characteristic and the amazing whispering gallery repeats the smallest whisper 11 times.

Believed to have inspired the Taj Mahal, this beautiful memorial houses the tomb of Ibrahim Adil Shah II of the Adil Shah dynasty and his wife Taj Sultana.

Alik-I-Maidan
This 55-tonne cannon perched on a platform is actually made from bell metal, which is why it sounds like a bell when tapped. At 14 feet long with a bore of 2 feet 4 inches it was placed here in 1632 after it caused havoc at the Battle of Talikota in 1565.
