Fatehpur Sikri Uttar Pradesh
Discover Fatehpur Sikri
Fatehpur Sikri, commonly known as the ‘City of Victory’, is located approximately 22 miles from Agra. Mughal Emperor Akbar built the city and relocated his capital there between 1571 and 1585. Archaeologists believe the city was erected to provide leisure and luxury to its prominent residents, but it was abandoned around 1610. The Buland Darwza (lofty gateway), mosques, tombs, elephant tower, and a drum house for musicians to proclaim the emperor’s arrival are among the historical structures on the site.
