Things to do in Bundi
Some of the great things you can enjoy in Bundi include:
Garh Palace
Bundi’s jewel in the crown is Garh Palace, a central majestic residence encircled by a number of miniature palaces. Garh was built by various rulers but most of the palaces were built during the 17th and 18th centuries. It is a great example of exquisite Rajput architecture and houses some of the most amazing Bundi frescoes. The palaces inside the royal fort of Bundi are elaborately decorated with vibrant paintings portraying scenes from daily life in the court of Bundi and from traditional literary and religious texts.
Taragarh Fort
Above the Garh Palace on a steep hill stands the Taragarh Fort, offering panoramic and breathtaking views of Bundi. Rudyard Kipling is believed to have penned parts of his acclaimed novel ‘Kim’ in Bundi. He said: “The Palace of Bundi, even in broad daylight, is such a palace as men built for themselves in uneasy dreams….the work of goblins rather than of men’.
