Discover Mokokchung

Located about 160 km north of Kohima, Mokokchung is an ideal base for visiting the nearby Ao villages. It is particularly lively during festivals like Christmas, New Year and more importantly during the Ao Festival called Moatsu, which takes place during the first week of May in the village of Chuchuyimlang.

Surrounded by lush green landscape offering picture perfect sunrise and sunset, Mokokchung is connected to many interesting tribal villages including Longkhum. This village is  hidden in the forest of pine trees, Rhododendrons and Ungma,and is the oldest tribal village in Nagaland where an old log drum is still used to signal the messages!
