With history dating back to 1775 Malabar House became Fort Cochin’s first boutique hotel in 1996. Offering 17 unique rooms and suites, as well as an acclaimed restaurant and wine lounge, its décor showcases a fine collection of art highlighting the culture of Kerala. Situated in the historical Fort Cochin, near St Francis Church and a short walk to the Chinese fishing nets the location is ideal for sightseeing and shopping. As you would expect from a Relais & Chateaux hotel, the service is flawless, the rooms are beautifully decorated and fine dining is offered.
Accommodation
All 17 rooms are centrally air-conditioned with and decorated superbly with stunning colour schemes plus antique & contemporary objects d’art. Every room has a large bathroom with bathtub and shower facilities, hanging space, televisions, direct dial telephones, WIFI, safe deposit lockers, coffee makers and minibar. Each room also has either a dedicated veranda, terrace or private garden sit-out area, while the suites have private terraces.
Dining at the Malabar House
The best of local products and where possible organic products are used. Each evening the dining experiences are accompanied by performances of classical Carnatic, Hindustani music or a classical dance on the patio’s stage subject to weather conditions.
