Discover the Helsa Morung
Tourist Class Homestay
Designed along the theme of Konyak habitat, Helsa Morung is a beautiful homestay in Mon. It is run by a village head-woman, with the name Helsa being an acronym from the first letters of the names of her children (H-Hamwang, E-Ethiel, L-Lemnon, S-Suzanne, A-Angam). ‘Morung’ is the name of a dormitory or a club in a Konyak tribal village where boys spent their growing-up years before they reached adulthood.
Nestled in the countryside, this is a perfect place to spend your time in Mon. The bamboo thatched cottages have comfortable beds and western-style bathrooms with hot & cold running water and meals are served in a dining area, often by a bonfire. Helsa Morung offers an authentic experience of belonging to a local community while ensuring a comfortable stay to visitors.
