Itinerary Asia Cricket Cup 2023

Friday 1st September 2023: Colombo – Pinnawala – Kandy

On arrival at Colombo, you will be met by your driver and transferred to Kandy. If time permits you can visit Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage en-route.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, is located 13 km northwest of Kegalle towards Kandy, and is famous because of the elephant orphanage located in the area. It is one of those ‘must see’ places for anyone with a love of animals and it would definitely add an unforgettable experience to your stay in Sri Lanka. (Bathing times 10:00hrs – 12:00 hrs & 14:00 -16:00 hrs)

Once in Kandy, you will be taken to your hotel. Kandy, has much to offer including the prime landmark of Sri Dalada Maligawa that houses the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Apart from the ancient monuments, the delightful jumble of antique shops and the bustling market are places to visit. In the evening you can visit The Temple of the Tooth. The palace temple stands surrounded by a moat, its golden roof gleaming in the sunlight as white-clad pilgrims bearing lotus blossoms throng to worship.

Saturday 2th September 2023: Kandy

After breakfast, you will be taken to the Cricket Stadium. Here you can enjoy the Asia Cup match in specially booked Grandstand seats in the stadium. A packed lunch will be provided at the Stadium. After the match has finished you will be taken back to your hotel.

Sunday 3rd September 2023: Kandy – Colombo

After breakfast, a visit to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya has been included. Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, although its origins date back to the era of medieval times, bears a rich history punctuated by colonialism and industrial change. The splendour of the gardens, further uplifted by the river that flows through its fringes.

You will then be taken back to Colombo. Colombo, is Sri Lanka’s commercial capital and major port. A fine amalgamation of all the hues and cultures within this paradise isle. This chic metropolitan brings together the many facets of this island nation. In the evening you can visit the Ganagramaya Temple, sprawled across the eastern side of Colombo’s Beira Lake. The unique and eclectic design attracts devout Buddhists, along with visitors who seek a haven in the middle of a bustling city. There will also be time for shopping and visiting a casino if you wish.

Monday 4th September 2023: Depart from Colombo Airport

In plenty of time you will be transferred to Bandaranaike International Airport to board your return flight.
