Tourist Grade Ethnic Resort

Touphema Village Resort is a community project and exclusively built for tourists to help them understand the lifestyle and the history of the people here. An ode to the rich cultural heritage of Nagaland, the resort was built and maintained by the local community, in collaboration with the Tourism Department of Nagaland. There are 12 huts built in the Naga style of architecture and decorated with native décor. Although modest and basic, these offer a unique experience to intrepid travellers. The daily activities include traditional Naga performances of local dance forms and folk tales. The community mess serves delicious Naga cuisine and home-brewed rice beer. The resort has recently opened a museum of traditional artefacts, jewellery, clothing and souvenirs.
