Previously the luxury accommodation for the guests of the Maharaja of Gondal, The Orchard Palace is now a wonderful heritage hotel that allows you a peek into the life of its former fancy guests. One of the most authentic and welcoming hotels in western India, Orchard Palace has gorgeous 40’s art deco interiors and a lovely 19th-century arched façade, along with indulgent rooms with three-piece suites and antique prints.

Things to do at the Orchard Palace

  • Start your engine and motor to the Royal Vintage & Classic Car Collection, a fantastic assemblage of 32 vehicles previously owned by royalty, from modern racing cars driven by the current maharaja, to a 1935 vintage Mercedes saloon and a 1907 model made by the New Engine Company Acton.
  • The enchanting 17th-century Naulakha Palace lies on the banks of river Gondali and contains stunning architecture, intricate carvings, spiral stairways and impressive courtyards and balconies.
  • Marvel at the lotions and potions available and the machinery that concocts them in the Shri Bhuvaneshwari Aushadhashram, a pharmacy founded in 1910 specialising in ayurvedic medicine.
