Bandhavgarh National Park - Madhya Pradesh

Discover Bandhavgarh National Park

There’s lots on offer in beautiful Bandhavgarh National Park, with 448 sq kms of lush meadows and Sal forests. Bandhavgarh was established in 1968 as a National Park, and later become a  tiger reserve under Project Tiger in 1993. It is divided in three zones, the Tala, the Magdi, and the Bamera, with the Tala being the most popular due to the better opportunities for sighting a tiger.

But what makes this park special is the tiger density, which is one of the highest known in India so it is one of the best places to spot a flash of stripy fur. It became world famous as the place where India’s first white tiger was found and is home to the majestic Bengal Royal Tiger.

The park also has a large breeding leopard population, around 250 bird species, 70 varieties of butterfly and many reptiles.
