Danielle’s Kerala Trip

Danielle set off on her Kerala trip in May 2024. Here’s what she had to say about her trip.

My time in Marari Beach was incredible! It’s definitely a wonderful place and it was the perfect way to end my Kerala trip. The farm-to-table experience was extra special.

I must tell you how amazing my driver, Rajesh, was. He took excellent care of me and made me feel very comfortable and safe. Rajesh was very professional and friendly and always on time. He is very good at his job and the trip would have been very different without him!

Danielle’s trip was a bespoke tour combining Cochin, Periyar, Teekoy, Alleppey, and Mararikulam.

Here’s an overview of her trip:

Day 1: Fly to Cochin

Day 2: Explore Cochin and visit the Kumbalanghi fishing village, followed by an interactive cooking demonstration with a local family

Day 3: Drive to Periyar and visit the wildlife sanctuary, South India’s best-kept tiger reserve

Day 4: Explore Periyar and, in the evening, enjoy a traditional Kathakali dance show

Day 5: Drive to Teekoy, and visit the pineapple and rubber plantations en route

Day 6: Explore Teekoy and later enjoy a private cooking session to learn about Keralan cuisine

Day 7: Drive to Alleppey, known as the ‘Venice of the East’, where you’ll board a private houseboat for an overnight cruise

Day 8: Travel to Mararikulam, a quaint fishing village north of Alleppey, followed by a visit to the farmland to join chefs in picking vegetables and herbs for a bespoke dish you’ll prepare together in the evening.

Day 9: Transfer to Cochin International Airport for your flight home
